Too right. I saw that video quite awhile ago and it angered me to no end that the cop was facing zero charges. At least he is fired now, but cops should be held to a higher standard than the average citizen, so he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And as for the cat, while it is quite sad someone would do it, I place human well being above that of an animals. Perhaps the funds used to prosecute the kid that pulled the cat abuse could be diverted to prosecute abusive policemen?

Cops protect the law and who protects the cats? The law. You can’t let one bad apple get in the way of YEEARS of outstanding and heroic police service by the police in this country. Cat hurters and Michael Vicks alike deserve the prosecution of the law in it is fullest extent.

Wow… you just missed his point entirely. He/she wasn’t saying that the fellow facing 2 years for the cat is unjust, he’s/she’s making a statement by comparing two sentences resulting from criminal acts. The difference between the two is what signifies a problem. I am glad that animal rights are finally being enforced but where do human rights stand if a civil servant can get away with doing that to a minor?

Hang on, The situation in which the cat got there is *probably* as follows;

1) Cat continually enters the mans property, shitting where it pleases, and generally annoying the man
2) He KNOWS the cat is his neighbor’s cat.
3) He probably expresses his frustration to the neighbor, to little or no effect.
4) So that the neighbor finally gets the message that his cat is pissing him off IMMENSELY, he duct tapes the cat up, which, although isn’t very nice, its not overly deadly or painful to the cat, more annoying than anything else.
5) Drops cat in neighbor’s yard, where he knows he will find it and HOPEFULLY get the message that his cat is pissing him off.
6) Gets jailed for ridiculous reasons.

Meanwhile, A severe beating sustained to a growing 15 year old child can leave severe mental and physical scars. Nothing happens.

Thank GOD that duct taping loony is facing 2 years in prison. Clearly there are big things afoot in animal rights, as of late. As is absolutely necessary.

The fact that the cop is not facing charges is wrong, and just another abortion of justice, but why do you have a problem with the LOSER who would do that to a helpless and innocent creature? It is high time these things are NOT allowed anymore. At least people who are abused have some chance of defending themselves by way of law, at the very least. Until recently, animals have had little or no legal recourse, and absolutely no way to defend themselves in any significant way.

Please find some other thing to bitch about.
